locum doctors and temporary doctors are useless if you have long term ailments as there is a lot of history to read. Even permanent doctors don't bother reading notes and they make decisions based on very general 'recent' case notes. A major change in doctors means having to argue to re-instate previously agreed medication constantly trying to save a few pennies here and there for absolutely no reason.

Registered patients for nearly 6 years, have had to leave as it is impossible to get an appointment on the day, even if you get through at 8:05am, apparently all appointments are taken. This is a new problem (Autumn of 2017- onwards), I think they must have taken on too many patients, as before you could usually get an appointment with no problem. The online booking system is great, if you know you need an appointment at least 1 week away. But you can't use it for children or anything other than a standard doctor's appointment.
As a result we are leaving. We can still use the walk-in services if we need to, but will actually be able to book appointments to see a doctor without having to wait an hour or so at our new surgery. When you're a registered patient you do not expect to have to wait every time you need to see a doctor, and by wait, I don't mean 5-15 minutes, I mean with the rest of the walk-ins.
That being said, Dr. Grimes is absolutely brilliant, it's just a shame you can't choose to see him very often. I have also found most of the other locums to be good.

We needed advice about how to care for a large scald on my mother's leg. The nurse was approachable, efficient and reassuring. My mother left the consultation feeling much more comfortable and also confident about how to look after the wound at home.
