Hard to get an appointment
I found the staff pleasant and the service I received satisfactory. However I have great difficulty in arranging an appointment at the surgery. You either have to be there in person at 08:30 in the morning or on the phone at that time. I suffer from repeated chest infections so it is not a good idea for me to be joining the queue outside at 8 am on a cold winters morning, which is what you have to do to be sure of getting an appointment. My hearing is impaired so I find it difficult in repeatedly phoning at 08:30 until I get through, which is the other alternative. I have tried using Patient EMIS but this usually takes several weeks for an appointment to come up. Last time I saw the doctor my appointment was cancelled on the morning as the doctor was ill. The surgery did phone me to let me know and tried to rebook me but they were unable to offer me anything so I went back to Patient EMIS. As a result it took me about 6 weeks to eventually have an appointment. It was lucky that I didn't have an acute medical problem.
