At Healthwatch East Sussex, our volunteers are at the heart of what we do. Whether you have a few hours or want to get more involved, we have a role that fits your interests and schedule. Our volunteers help improve local health and social care services by highlighting issues that matter to patients and service users, making sure their voices are heard by decision-makers.
From September to December 2024, Healthwatch talked to people in Lewes and the Havens about primary care, social isolation, social determinants of health, and what supports their wellbeing.
Healthwatch East Sussex is inviting children aged 8-11 and their parents/guardians to take part in an interactive focus group about paediatric care. This is a fantastic opportunity to ensure children’s voices are heard and help shape NHS services.

Healthwatch East Sussex are holding a focus group for children aged 8 – 11 and their parent/guardian to hear experiences of paediatric care in East Sussex. The session will explore experiences through creative activities for children and parents/guardians.
East Sussex Community Voice (ESCV) CIC was established in 2013 to deliver the Healthwatch East Sussex and to develop other projects to help the public have a say in the design, commissioning and delivery of public services in the county.
Between July to November 2024, we engaged with residents of HMP Lewes to ask them about their experiences of health and care services. We wanted to hear what was important to them about their health and care, what was working well and what needed to change to improve their experience of care.
