Conquest Hospital Radio launches new online service

The listening audience of Conquest Hospital Radio will increase significantly thanks to the investment in new broadcasting equipment and an online service.

Dr Adrian Bull ESHT Chief Executive, in the presence of Mayor of Hastings Cllr Judy Rogers, opened the new service at a launch event attended by around 30 Conquest Hospital Radio volunteers.

Keith Crispin Station Manger Conquest Hospital Radio said, “The significant investment we have made in new broadcasting equipment and the launch of our online service increases our audience into the local community and far beyond. Our audience is no longer confined to just the hospital. Family and friends can now listen to their messages and requests online, helping to bring them closer to their loved ones in hospital. I would like to thank our sponsors and fundraisers who have made this possible.”

A study has shown that hospital radio can have positive impact on a patients physiological and social health outcome. It helps to reduce boredom, loneliness and anxiety of patients in hospital.
