Interim Report into Digital Engagement Survey 2020: Preferences towards the future of Health & Social Care services in Sussex

August 21, 2020

Today sees the release of an interim report from Healthwatch in Sussex on the findings of a survey into people’s experiences of digital consultations with health and care providers undertaken during June and July 2020.

The document provides an overview of approximately 2,000 responses received by Healthwatch in East Sussex, West Sussex and Brighton & Hove, as well as a parallel initiative by the Sussex Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) on NHS communications with patients.

The engagement focused on establishing people’s experiences of digital or remote consultations during the COVID-19 period when social distancing and precautions restricted the opportunities for face-to-face engagement. It also explored their expectations and preferences for the delivery of services in the restoration and recovery stages post-COVID-19.

The next phase of this initiative will explore individual’s views and experiences in more detail through the use of semi-structured interviews, with the findings and recommendations developed from the survey and interviews scheduled for publication during the autumn.
