Donation from Bede’s Prep School towards new CT scanner
Bede’s Prep School Eastbourne has donated £590.63 towards a new CT scanner at Eastbourne DGH. Pupils from the school, Isla Salmon (10) and Tom Lloyd (12) presented a cheque to Dr Neil Barlow Consultant Radiologist and Harry Walmsley Chairman of the Friends of Eastbourne Hospital.
Dr Neil Barlow Consultant Radiologist said: “We are very grateful to Bede’s Prep School for their donation. The money will go towards a new state of the art CT scanner which will be faster and more powerful than our present scanner offering the opportunity to undertake more noninvasive investigations than ever before.”
Sue Baldwin from Bede’s Prep School said: “We always have a retiring collection at our Carol Service and this year we wanted to support the local hospital by donating money to the Friends of Eastbourne Hospital CT Scanner appeal. We raised close to £600 thanks to the generosity of parents and friends.”
Harry Walmsley, Chairman of The Friends of Eastbourne Hospital said: “I would like to thank the school for their generous donation towards our CT scanner appeal.”
A Computerised Tomography (CT) scanner uses X-rays and a computer to create detailed images of the inside of the body. They are used to diagnose conditions, guide further tests or treatments and monitor conditions.
