Healthwatch in Sussex feature in Healthwatch England’s Annual Report

March 15, 2024

On the 13th March 2024, Healthwatch England published their 2022-23 annual report ‘The Value of Listening’.

Which highlighted the value of the voices shared with Healthwatch over the last 12 months in shaping health and care services.

In the report you can read about their work, activity carried out by local Healthwatch across the country, as well as the next steps they plan to take to shape the NHS and social care nationally.

Healthwatch in Sussex Collaboration

This year, work carried out by Healthwatch in Sussex (East Sussex, Brighton and Hove and West Sussex) to develop a Sussex-wide understanding of people’s experiences of accessing or seeking to access dentistry features in the national report.

The feature highlights how the three local Healthwatch’s collaborated to understand local people’s experiences of accessing dentistry and fed what we heard in response from NHS Sussex who committed to:

ensure this feedback is central to our work as we work with dental providers this year to set out immediate and longer-term areas of improvement.”

This demonstrates the impact sharing your experiences with Healthwatch can have on local health and care services.
