Local MP visits Urology department
Local MP Stephen Lloyd visited the Urology Department at Eastbourne DGH. He met the ward and outpatient investigation teams as he toured the unit.
Eastbourne DGH is the regional centre for Pelvic Cancer, incontinence and reconstructive surgery and offers patients from across the region an enhanced pathway for renal and ureteric stones.
Stephen Lloyd MP said: “It was a real pleasure to meet the team at the DGH’s Urology department. An astonishingly busy team they are with around 10,000 patients a year. I learnt that the quality of care provided by DGH Urology inpatient and outpatient service is such they’re recognised as being one of the best in the South East. I can provide personal testimony to that as they looked after me brilliantly when visiting as an outpatient myself only a few months ago.”
Claire Bishop Head of Nursing for Surgery said: “We were delighted to show Stephen Lloyd around our Urology unit and ward. He was able to see at first hand the professional dedicated team we have committed to providing high quality care. We were able to share with him our plans for expanding our patient facilities and talked about our ongoing programme of staff development and training to enhance our highly effective, patient centred urology service”.
