Samaritans Awareness Day is held on the 24th of the 7th, highlighting the fact that you can talk to a Samaritan 24/7, day or night.
Samaritans Awareness Day celebrates and raises awareness of the incredible work Samaritans do all year round.
Who are the Samaritans, and how can they help you or someone you know?
The Samaritans are a UK-based charity that provides emotional support to anyone about anything that’s troubling them, no matter how large or small the issue feels.
They offer a non-judgmental and confidential service.
Samaritans have a variety of contact methods, including phone, email, letter, or in person, for whichever way you feel most comfortable reaching out.
All methods of contacting Samaritans are completely free and open to all ages.

The Samaritan helpline is open 24/7, offering a safe space to talk anytime in your own way; they follow a simple ‘you talk, we listen’ rule.

Contacting is free from landlines and mobiles, including pay-as-you go mobiles, requiring no credit or call allowance plan.

Write openly and express yourself; don’t worry about spelling or punctuation; what matters most is that you’re reaching out.
The Samaritans aim to get back to you with a handwritten letter within 7 days.

Samaritans has over 200 branches in the UK, where you can talk to someone face-to-face in a quiet and private space.
There’s no need to even tell them your name if you want to, and there’s no right or wrong thing to ask or say.
