Specialist Nurse recognised for lifetime achievement

Louise Wilson Vascular Nurse Specialist has been given a lifetime achievement award from the Society of Vascular Nurses at their Annual Conference. Louise has single handily worked as Vascular Nurse Specialist in Eastbourne for over 20 years.
An extract of her citation from Mr Andrew Sanderson Consultant Vascular Surgeon read:
“Louise has worked tirelessly; putting in many extra unpaid hours of work and travel, to try to ensure her patients received a high standard of care.”
He added “It has been a privilege to work with her and learn from her over the last 16 years. I know she will work with equal dedication with the new consultants in the Sussex Vascular Network.”
Louise Wilson Vascular Nurse Specialist said: “It was a great surprise but also a great honour to get this award. I find my job as a Vascular Nurse Specialist very rewarding. It is a privilege to have the opportunity to help and care for vascular patients in what can be a difficult and challenging time following their surgery.”
