The Healthwatch East Sussex High Weald Listening Tour will take place between Monday 11th June and Friday 21st June 2019. This is an exciting opportunity for our partners to be involved in a programme of focussed engagement activity that will:

  • Embed an innovative and streamlined approach to public engagement
  • Work in partnership with the VCS and Healthwatch East Sussex in a more collaborative and targeted way
  • Offer the opportunity for the views of patients and families to improve the services partners plan, deliver or scrutinise
  • Make better use of specific local community knowledge for the benefit of the people of East Sussex

Partners can take part by:

  • Joining the listening tour on specific days, shifts and venues in line with your organisation’s work programme
  • Providing information about your organisation directly to the public
  • Hearing directly from the public about their experiences and the challenges they encounter when accessing your services
  • Answering specific questions members of the public may raise

Benefits include:

  • The tour provides a means to communicate key messages to communities
  • The insight gathered can inform the wider health and care transformation plans
  • Opportunities to demonstrate current collaborative working and to strengthen partnerships with Healthwatch East Sussex, Voluntary and Community Organisations and members of the public.
  • Discussing health prevention, promotion and wellbeing strategies with individuals and groups

You are invited to:

  • Bring along information and resources to engage with local people
  • Be responsible for your own resources and transportation arrangements
  • Promote the “Listening Tour” within your networks and organisation, to encourage members of the public and people who use your services to get involved
  • Engage with around the clock opportunities

This project is not seeking to replicate the work of any group or organisation already networking in the local community, we are seeking to grow awareness of Healthwatch East Sussex and East Sussex Community Voice brand, to support the voice of local people in health and care service design and delivery.

We welcome any key lines of enquiry your organisation would want to follow during this activity, however, we would politely request that you:

  1. Provide Healthwatch East Sussex with a copy of any feedback you receive
  2. Signpost anybody you are unable to assist to Healthwatch East Sussex
