Friends donate Theatre Light

October 28, 2015

Uckfield Community Hospital League of Friends have donated new lights for the operating theatre in the Day Surgery Unit at Uckfield Hospital. The two lights are easy to move offering the surgeon different lighting angles. The new lights costing £15,450 can have varying brightness and a colour variation which helps to highlight certain types of tissue.

Bernard Trew Chairman of Uckfield Community Hospital League of Friends said, “The League of Friends is happy to provide these lights as the operating theatre is often used six days a week. It enables local people to have their operations closer to home.”

Heather Green Day Surgery Unit Matron said, “We are really pleased at the generosity of the Uckfield Community Hospital League of Friends. Their help and support keeps this hospital up to date and at the heart of the local community.”

The type of Day Surgery procedures performed at Uckfield include foot, knee, shoulder, maxillo facial, hernia and Ear Nose and Throat surgery.
