Nursing staff win monthly award

June 29, 2016

Staff Nurse Kayleigh Beattie and Healthcare Assistant Danielle Baker from Kipling Ward at Conquest Hospital have been recognised for their compassion winning the monthly staff award.

Caroline Stephenson, Practice Educator on Kipling Ward who nominated the nursing staff said “Kayleigh and Danielle collected money from staff and went the extra mile to buy presents and treats for a little boy receiving palliative care, to make his birthday special for him and his family. His vision has failed so they very thoughtfully bought him tactile and sensory presents. All staff on duty sang Happy Birthday. It was a very moving moment”.

In presenting the award, Alice Webster, Director of Nursing thanked them on behalf of the Trust for their kindness and compassion.
