Poor communication and no patient focus
October 25, 2024
No idea what is going on with this practice. Constantly understaffed, nearly impossible to get through to, online 'triage' system often doesn't work, staff appear stressed and can be rude/dismissive. Poor communication.
One GP contradicts another GP
GP not recording information accurately, information goes missing
Having to constantly explain the same thing to multiple people (GP, practitioner....) because you never seem to be able to have consistent care
Being made to feel you are impinging on their time, that you are wasting their time, that you are malingering or making things up or a bother.
Referrals not being made or hindered/delayed - despite ALL the information being there at hand
GP's interpreting results/information differently (back to being told one thing , then another thing by someone else, then getting a phone call for XYZ and having to explain things ALL over again)
Absolutely no patient care or understanding, this surgery seems to have little understanding (tolerance?) of anything invisible (conditions)
Ignoring parts of a complaint and cherry picking what they want to respond to
Used to be a fantastic surgery - helpful, kind, patient focused, now having to contact them induces anxiety and delaying doing so. It's exhausting and frustrating trying to talk with anyone at this surgery.

Whenever I try to phone I get terminated then if you ever get through you are told at 8.50 in the morning there are no appointments. It is an absolute disgrace. The Dr's and nurse if you do get through however are very lovely but their booking system is broken.
What the heck has happened to this surgery

Trying to get a (phone) appointment is a nightmare (I understand that current times are tough going)
When you do get to speak to someone - they aren't listening and talk all over you (experienced this with 3 different practitioners now)
They seem to have gone from quite caring with good listening skills to indifferent (again I get they are under immense pressure currently) and wanting to get you of the phone/out of appointment as quickly as possible

Trying to get an appointment at Bridgeside Surgery is a total nightmare, staff are not understanding of circumstances nor caring. You have to ring every morning and if none available, ring tomorrow, and so on.Not easy when you have a condition that makes it difficult for you to get around.
No understanding of individual or family combined needs.

Our family is registered here and my eldest has a heart condition. I may not always get an appointment but i will always get a call and if im urgent enough i'll get an appointment. Dr's are always friendly and always listen to my concerns. The receptionists are always polite and understanding
Excellent GP services

Practice. Dr care was super for first 6 years. But since several incidents have happened. On top of all the new residents moving into Hailsham. This care was worrying that the care was very bad. So bad in fact I had to move surgeries. The GP & staff made me feel very ill by offering my med to late. Miss communication and long winded booking process that's become hard work and tiresome. For maybe a year I had care via a secretary. My GP was difficult to get appointments with. I just felt unsupported totally. Speaking to others these sorts of situations were not happening to them.
