Hand Gel
I saw the article in the local paper - and the display by the cafe - about using hand gel and controlling infection. I was horrified to discover that there is ONLY 1 hand gel machine in the whole of the entrance area, cafe, corridors, toilets, etc and that is almost hidden outside the flower shop by the doors. I have mentioned this, previously, to the reception staff and hope that they have passed the message on to the relevant people, but as nothing has been done, I can only assume that they haven't. I fully appreciate that all the ward entrances have hand gel machines, but I just wonder if the bugs/germs only go onto the wards! Do they (the germs) not go into any other areas? Infection is so easily transmitted and there is absolutely no control whatsoever in the public areas. A member of the reception staff told me that she never touched anything without having her own disposable gloves and also brought her own gel.
