Harold Road Surgery

Had abdominal op mesh all over front of abdomen, painful. Sent home with 2 dressings to be changed weekly, told back at work in a wk or so, arthritis couldn't change dressings, they stuck together, stuck them across abdomen with black gaffer tape to hold in place as had no more. No core support, couldn't stand up, needed crutches, used a broomstick couldn't support myself. Off work for 5mths. Finally got gp appt she was lovely, said should've had physio, too late now. Still having problems a few years on. Have painful hip now, walking awful, appts aren't available, no gps there it seems any day. Nurses not there either, they cannot refer nor prescribe either. There is nowhere else to go. Very low mood. Hip very painful, unable to go upstairs, sleeping on sofa, coping. Waited nearly a year for xray, not heard back from surgery re result. It is impossible to contact them, you have to go in person and stand at desk. We are all lost patients at this practice. Too much stress I want to leave, walk painfree and get a life again.

Never had any problems getting appointments or medication been registered here for 35 years same doctor for 25 but there has been changes and the number of patients and seniors makes it harder work for staff and patients to get what they want

No matter how many times I ring to get an appointment you never get one.

Cutting a long story short, I basically had to move doctors because the staff. In the end they were ignoring me when I needed my medicines, and the only way to get them was to move doctors who sorted it out within 5 days. That’s moving/transferring and getting my medicines sent to me and another medicine I needed. They caused unnecessary stress. It’s no wonder it’s rated ‘inadequate’ from the QCC. I have never had an issue with a doctors in my entire life or complained until now. I went on to complain to the CQC.

Impossible to speak directly to the Surgery on the phone. Directed to a call centre then have to wait while they contact the surgery even to book an appointment. Unable to go into the surgery and book an appointment also. They wont allow it.

I have 2 urgent issues, one being resistant cough which I feel need investigation. I have phoned every day for the last week. Usually unable to get through being 19th in the queue. I have been into the surgery twice. Fist time they said they would phone me back, which did not happen and today to be told they could not make an appointment the first telephone conversation with a doctor available on 9 September. Urgent call must be made at 8.30, which of course I have tied now for 8 days.I requested referral to bender but I have to see a doctor first. I am 78 and concerned what an Ido

online appointment 8 days to talk on phone, trying to get past receptionist , who must admit tried everything in book to block a f2f eg chemist, phone call , 911 , google.

Doctors, nurses, receptionists & housekeeping staff are all truly professional

Now I'm a pensioner, I've started to have more medical problems and how glad I am to be registered at what must be the best GP Surgery in the area.

Whichever Doctor I see is always sympathetic and efficient and I could not wish for better treatment.

My son is autistic with learning difficulties and has been seeing the nurses every week for over a year to have treatment to his legs.

Due to his mental state, he regularly tells them they are all useless and making his condition worse!

But they are all very understanding and continue to give him the best possible care, so a big thank you to everyone.

Very happy with all aspects that the surgery offers. Always seen on time. Great Staff and Friendly Doctors.
