staff reaction to a fire alarm was neglige
I was waiting for treatment and the fire alarm went off at approximately 13.10. When the fire alarm sounds ALL staff should stop what they are doing and immediately evacuate the building. This didn't happen. They stayed in the treatment rooms. It was well over a minute before we saw any staff in the waiting room. Patients were asking if it was a fire alarm, was it a false alarm, were they testing the alarms. We eventually were asked to evacuate. No one went to the Assembly Point. People were waiting under the front porch area. Staff should have directed patients both on evacuation and where to assemble. Staff need training. Very bad experience. Patients need to feel safe in a hospital.
