Hard to get an appointment

I found the staff pleasant and the service I received satisfactory. However I have great difficulty in arranging an appointment at the surgery. You either have to be there in person at 08:30 in the morning or on the phone at that time. I suffer from repeated chest infections so it is not a good idea for me to be joining the queue outside at 8 am on a cold winters morning, which is what you have to do to be sure of getting an appointment. My hearing is impaired so I find it difficult in repeatedly phoning at 08:30 until I get through, which is the other alternative. I have tried using Patient EMIS but this usually takes several weeks for an appointment to come up. Last time I saw the doctor my appointment was cancelled on the morning as the doctor was ill. The surgery did phone me to let me know and tried to rebook me but they were unable to offer me anything so I went back to Patient EMIS. As a result it took me about 6 weeks to eventually have an appointment. It was lucky that I didn't have an acute medical problem.
Poor service. No appointments

I never call for myself anymore because if i cant get an appointment for my asthmatic 3 year old I'm never getting an appointment for myself. Avoid this surgery .

Can never get through on the phone, never get an appointment and so rushed if you ever do that they don't actually do any thing to help.

Repeat prescription service can take up to 2 weeks and on more than one occasion you cannot even get anyone to answer the phone at all, even at any of additional practices in the group. When you do manage to get an appointment it is just a series of locum doctors, with no continuity of service what so ever.

I haven't been able to get through to the surgery by phone for the last 4 weeks.

All I want to do is see a doctor! I would be better off waiting until out of hours. At least I may have a chance of seeing someone.

You can never get an appointment unless your on the door at 8 but I have 2 kids and it's not possible at that time

Been a patient of this surgery for 10+ years but in the 18 months since the retirement of a Dr, you have to play Russian roulette of hanging on the phone at 8am in the morning to even get an appointment then you have to detail account to the receptionist who then decides whether or not you are allowed an appointment. What happened to patient - doctor confidentiality. This surgery has gone to the dogs.
