Rude, incompetent staff, no time for people!

I visit EDGH on a regular basis due to my profession. I work with adults with dementia. All the staff treat my residents with little compassion, they are rude, with no manners, and have no pacience. I visited recently with someone who possibly had a stroke. They were so incompetent it was unreal. Wouldn't listen to her, were using force, everything you wouldn't want as a patient. As a lady who suffered with dementia, they couldn't of cared less for her. There were lots of empty beds. Lots of staff stood around chatting. Every time I asked what was going on, they said they needed more tests... More tests?! Where were the first original tests? It was an appalling experience and it doesn't bare thinking about if there really was a big bad emergency.

I was sent to Eastbourne because I was losing weight. Had tests + scans. Nothing found so sent to Haernatologist and is checked now and again - diagnosed with Sjögren's syndrome. It turned out very well and I was treated well. They did everything they could. I am helping with research on Sjögren's syndrome .

I was taken in to MRU because I took an overdose, the staff were so welcoming and comforting. They helped you if you needed anything and the service they provided for all of the patients was outstanding! They where very busy but handled the situations very well. When I had my 4 year old niece visit me in day 2 the staff where very good and made her feel very welcome even though hospitals are scary to kids. Over all I couldn't of asked for nicer people to treat me I'm thankful for the service they provide.

Attended with my Dad following him having an accident at work. A&E staff were very attentive from the porters to the nurses and consultants. Arm/wrist was reset and plastered and operation scheduled for soon after. Orthopaedic outpatients also very efficient. No complaints from us, thanks for looking after my Dad!!

My little girl stopped breathing at home one afternoon, very unexpected so called 999, we were taken to EDGH as Hastings was too far in this emergency! The care my child & myself recieved was amazing...it was the most awful experience but the staff made it that little bit easier. We wish we could of stayed at EDGH but unfortunately, like the case with all children we were transferred to Hastings! Their care was also brill but its just too far from home, especially when you have other children!

My daughter was in hospital as she ended up catching reactive arthritis from a viral infection and they kept the children's dept open a bit later for us so we didn't have to be over night at Hastings and they were very patient with her as she was afraid of having a blood test

My boy suffered on going asthma attacks and bronchitis several times a year from 10months old to 4 years old resulting in numerous nightly admissions. Friston ward and the nurses were incredible to all of us xxx
