Excellent patient centered care.

Cardiology

From the time my husband entered the emergency dept until he was discharged from the CCU he was treated with dignity, respect and compassion. All the staff including porters and catering staff were kind, cheerful and professional. Despite being very busy the nursing and medical staff always smiled, were polite, reassuring and informative.

Outpatients appointment letter

Outpatients
October 17, 2016
Received letter today altering my outpatient appointment (gastroenterology) from 15.15 to 15.20 on the same day. Although it's very polite of them to let me know, it seems a lot of money & effort for the Trust to spend on notifying of a 5 minute delay. I could understand it if my appointment had been changed to an earlier time. I hope the Trust can explore as many ways as possible to reduce paper letters & all the expense that they involve. I would be happy to receive appointments & changes via email or text.

Can't get through!

Ophthalmology

Issues making telephone contact re: appointments (Booking and Cancelling) using the 01323 number. I've tried on numerous occasions and no one ever answers it. If you can't get through you receive a 'DNA' on file which is not accurate. Also same letters arrive after appointment date.

the hospital isn't as friendly and welcoming

I have noticed that over the last 2 years the hospital isn't as friendly and welcoming as it previously has Been? Why have services been transferred to the conquest? It's very difficult to get over there.

Broken hand

September 13, 2016
I broke my hand and was in plaster for 6 weeks, went to see consultant, had a 3 hour wait for a 30 second appointment. Was told I would be fine. No repeat x ray. My hand was still broken.

Great appointment visit, great staff

Three cheers for Eastbourne being part of the Butterfly scheme - you made my life as a carer SO much easier today - thank you
Took mum to opthalmology for appointment, mentioned to the Sister that mum has mixed dementia and they immediately 'got it' (and then explained the Butterfly scheme which I had never heard of - ALL hospitals need this)

The staff had lovely happy, welcoming dispositions, lots of smiles (not just for me and mum but to ALL patients)
Liked that the consultants came out and called their own patients
All staff introduced themselves and greeted all their patients with a smile

Efficient and helpful

Even the main hospital outpatients receptionists were lovely

And the PaLs and the cafe staff - lovely

Much improved hospital from when I last visited it many years ago

I had been feeling unwell and couldn't breathe or walk very far without stopping.

I had my pacemaker checked and the battery was low, within a week I was in hospital and had a new one fitted. I now feel wonderful, I walk the whole length of the seafront.

Wonderfull attention by all at the hospital - I can't praise them enough.
